Tim's Power Tips
Power Tip #1
Mute the
pop!
When you use the Volume keys
on your keyboard, your Mac makes a small popping sound so
that you get a sense of how far you've adjusted the volume.
Sometimes you would rather not hear that sound. No worry.
Adding the SHIFT key to the Volume Up/Down buttons silences
the "pop". Thanks, Tim. Our ears feel better already.
Power Tip #2
Delete word
by word...
...and not just letter by letter. Here's how :
Just add the OPTION key to the
DELETE key while deleting! It's just that simple. Now you
can delete word by word and shorten your editing time!
For laptop users: FUNCTION + DELETE deletes forward AND
adding the OPTION key deletes forward, word by word.
Power Tip
#3
Power your
way through dialog boxes without using the mouse!
Whenever you're navigating
through some Dialog boxes, you can speed things up by not
reaching for the rodent pointing device. Use these keyboard
short-cuts instead: ESCAPE = "Cancel"; RETURN = the
highlighted button (e.g. "Save" or "Quit", etc.) and, very
often, the initial letter of the remaining buttons can be
"clicked" from the keyboard by using the Command key plus
the first letter of the button's caption (e.g. COMMAND +
"D" for "Don't Save", etc.)
iPhone
Moments
Tim's iPhone moment was pre-empted (dare we say -
upstaged?) by Alex Hyman's iPhone Moment. More iPhones,
more moments. You gotta be here.
