Tim's Power Tips
Tim announced the release date of Leopard. (Shhhh, it's
Friday, October 26th.)
Tim also reminded us that he is our Apple Ambassador and
works with vendors to get us some of these great deals like
the one from Peachpit.
Power Tip #1
Well, since we don't have internet access Tim can't
demonstrate exactly what he wanted to, but he did tell us
this:
Go to apple.com, in the search bar type virus and see what
comes up! It's like finding an Easter Egg.
Power Tip #2
Let's go to System Preferences for this one and click in
the search bar. Here's a neat thing that helps "switchers".
Let's say, one thing you might want to do is change your
desktop background. "Desktop" - that's what we call it, but
what do Windows users call it? Wallpaper. If they come to
System Preferences and type wallpaper, guess what?? System Preferences highlights
"Desktop & Screen Saver". It knows what they are after!
Cool.
What if you're concerned about firewall settings? Nothing
says firewall. hmmm. Type firewall in the search bar and
System Preferences finds where you need to go.
What about highlight color, where would I go? Type
highlight and System Preferences finds that for you, too.
iPhone Moment
Tim shared a quick iPhone moment with us - always
enjoyable, it's one of the benefits of being at the
meeting.
